12:20 yelp.com I had a service agreement with this company for the past 2 years. The agreement was to service my furnace and air conditioner annually. On November 21, 2025, their service man came out to service my furnace. He stated that he was going to adjust my thermostat where it would only use my furnace and not my heat pump. He did some type of maintenance in my basement and adjusted my thermostat. That was on a Friday. Saturday (next day) around 4 am I woke up to a freezing cold house. I texted their company around 9 am then I called my brother who lives in another state. He's a licensed HVAC person. He said to turn off the thermostat and flip the switch to the furnace in the basement. He called it a hard reset. Well it kicked on but the vent was blowing cool air then go off and blow luke warm air. He told me to go outside and listen for the heat pump. It was running. I texted the company back and told them not to send anyone. My home was relatively warm atter I turned on my gas fireplace. On 12/17, I get my electric bill. It was 2 1/2 times higher than usual. From $83 the previous month to $204 for the billing period 11/12 - 12/15. I called my utility company and explained that my bill was higher than usual. Evergy agreed. The next thing | was asked is if a service man or someone had been to my house. I said yes on 11/21. She said my usage went way up on 11/23 and continued to be higher than usual with December 14th being the highest. The kilowatt usage was 108 for that one day alone. On 12/14 my house was cold again. I did a hard set again. On 12/18, Floyd their worker came out to check my system. He adjusted the thermostat, went in the basement. He said that the heat and air conditioner were both running at the same time. All these issues didn't start until the service person came on 11/21. The same day later (12/18) that evening | get home from work and my home is ice cold again. I use my space heater to stay warm in my bedroom. I texted Floyd that night. He said he didn't know why my heat wasn't coming on. The next morning Tina calls to set up another service call. This is 2 service calls in less than a month for the same reason. So on Friday, 12/19, Andrew, the manager shows up around 5:15. At this point, I am highly frustrated with the situation. Needless to say, our exchange was not pleasant. I really wanted to let him have it when he said "I am a manager. I don't work after 5. I am here to help you. This is taking away from time with my family." Like who tells a customer that. Like he's doing me a favor. I do have a service plan. So we manage to get pass the ugly exchange. So he discovers that my furnace valve isn't working. Keep in mind that their service person was just at my house the day before. There was no mention of a bad valve. I had no issues until after 11/21. 1 am sure running both the heat and air for 14 days could have caused the failed valve. He leaves me this ridiculous quote. I decided to get a second opinion. I no longer trust that their service ppl are competent. They left me with a $204 electric bill and possibly a gas valve that supposedly don't work and a lot of excuses from the manager Why it stopped working. Heres a piece of advice. Keep the manager at his desk. Usually they don't have ppl skills. Justin the one that initially messed up my thermostat settings on 11/21 was pleasant. However, He took it upon himself to remove the placard that was on my furnace. It was the company information for my humidifier. He asked who installed it and how did they charge me. I guess he put it in his pocket. It was on my furnace. He went and got their companies placard and said put this on your furnace. You are not supposed to remove anything without asking. He said something about their company will be servicing it going forward. WTH

I signed up for their routine checks. Had Levi and Caleb out (check HVAC and water heater/ plumbing). Both were timely, professional and did a great job. Levi offered up options to improve HVAC but no pushy sales. Caleb explained the standing issues I had with my water heater (poor initial installation) and offered quotes as well as broke it into smaller packages and discussed what are priority fixes. He came back out the next week and got everything done quickly and looks good! He went above and beyond doing a little extra so everything looked good, cleaned up and made sure I understood all the changes done. Great experience overall! (Also have to mention the office staff was quick to reach out and schedule follow up and worked with my limited schedule! )

I had my first experience with Hometown Hero recently, and I am absolutely blown away by their commitment to customer satisfaction. Initially, a technician came out and diagnosed and fixed the issue. However, it turned out the problem wasn't fully resolved. Most companies would make you wait, but Hometown Hero was incredible! They immediately sent another technician out the very same day to try and resolve it. When the issue still persisted, they didn't hesitate. They sent a third technician—the original one—out first thing the next morning. This technician was persistent, highly skilled, and finally got the problem 100% resolved. The best part? Even with the multiple visits over two days, I was only charged the initial, single fee. There were no extra charges for the follow-up visits, which truly shows their integrity and dedication to fixing the problem correctly. From diagnosis to final fix, their service was top-notch, professional, and honest. I highly recommend Hometown Hero and will be calling them for all my future needs! Would you like me to make any specific changes to this review, or maybe focus on a particular aspect more strongly?

What seemed like a short and simple job at first became a long and drawn out ordeal with much trial and error. Professionalism was maintained and the task was eventually completed after managerial back up was called in. The job was a leaking shower. It took roughly 6 hours to finally get it done. Works fine now.
